When news came of Left Bank Booksreturn to Downtown St. Louis with a new satellite location – for once, it really felt like something about which to cheer. The beloved Left Bank Books’ is not only a home-grown, favorite City business and a much needed lifestyle offering for Downtown, but also Left Bank’s expansion brings a renewed surge of confidence in Downtown’s renaissance. Just maybe, despite the avalanche of negative economic news, Downtown St. Louis will succeed in developing a destination shopping district.

So, this month, we at Chivvis would like to know are there any other businesses – local or national – that you think will provide the same excitement and confidence in Downtown St. Louis?

Please let us know in the comments what businesses you would like to see Downtown.

November 4 was a demonstration of the power of public opinion. Now, let your opinion help shape St. Louis.

The Chivvis Development team is developing a sustainable business plan to ensure the longevity of the future Chouteau’s Landing Art Center (CLAC).  Part of this effort is a number of interviews with local artists and arts organizations.  This research will help us identify missing niches in the St. Louis art market and ways CLAC can improve St. Louis’  art offerings.  However, it’s no good to build an art center if no one attends, and it can’t sustain itself.  So, please leave your comments on what you hope CLAC will fulfill in expanding the St. Louis art community from the types of workshop studios and classes offered to the art forms you would like to see represented in CLAC.

Truly, your opinion counts. All information collected will be used to earn support and funding for CLAC.  So what you contribute will influence the final incarnation of this endeavor. Learn more about CLAC at www.clacstl.com.  Or Email Stacey if you would like to talk directly with a member of our Research Feasibility team.

Thank you  for helping us redefine the City and region of St. Louis.

chouteauslanding_alive_05_08_web.jpgChivvis is excited to announce Historic Fourth Street’s newest addition - Bushwoods On Fourth Street, a bar and grill that opened Friday, April 25, 2008. Then in the fall, Riley’s Flower and Gifts will relocate to 904 Historic Fourth Street along with other businesses that will be announced later this spring.

Chivvis Development is helping these entrepreneurs expand their businesses to Historic Fourth Street with strategic publicity, including business profiles in Chouteau’s Landing advertisements, announcements on ChouteausLanding.com and continued press releases promoting Chouteau’s Landing businesses.

While Historic Fourth Street is a great location for small- and medium-sized companies and retailers, Chouteau’s Landing is a 58-acre district with numerous possibilities for larger companies. Chouteau Avenue and prime locations with Downtown views and I-64 and I-70 exposure are available for Class-A office buildings or business campus options.

Call Andy Murphy at 314.994.4093 or Ben Holley at 314.446.2901 to learn more about what commercial leasing opportunities are available to you in Chouteau’s Landing.

Chivvis Development has set forth a mission for Chouteau’s Landing to be an arts district. Do you think a centralized arts district will help transform Downtown St. Louis into a more attractive city for regional and national audiences as well as citizens of St. Louis? And how often do you take advantage of St. Louis’ museums, galleries and art events in the City?

arch-urbanq.jpg In August 2007, a Danforth Foundation study revealed a need for the St. Louis Arch Grounds to connect with surrounding neighborhoods and be more accessible to the public. In what ways do you think the Chouteau’s Landing redevelopment project can assist in making these connections, and how would you prioritize them in regards to the entire Chouteau’s Landing project?
